Foggy Maine Morning

Size: 12" x 9"

My photographer friend Lindsay took the photo that inspired this painting on a trip to Maine last year. I was captivated by the foggy air, the softness of the landscape and the flatness of the light before the sun really burned off the moisture and added color to the day. This small painting is filled with subtle details and hints of the color to come when the sun burns off the fog. In my mind if I'm there I feel the quiet and the remoteness and can take in a sense a calm before the day begins. What do you think?

This painting is acrylic, coated with gloss varnish and set in a simple black wood contemporary frame with a small white border, It's ready to hang in that perfect spot on your wall. I offer free shipping in the continental USA.

This small painting is based on a reference photo taken by my photographer friend Lindsay in Maine on a really foggy morning. It's that soft time of the morning near the water hen the air is just filled with moisture and the sun hasn't quite started to light up the landscape and clear away the fog. Sounds are muffled and in less populated areas you would not hear much anyway!
